Reggie Dixon's Tango Treats The finest darksynth album I have heard (was Headhunter). Cerebral yet always engaging and instantly recognisable as Fixions, there is extreme metal in its veins; frenetic, uncompromising, ferocious yet it has many introspective moments that are no less sophisticated. With its peerless attention to detail it makes a mockery of artists that use sci-fi imagery without evoking any musical connection to the concepts. I would love this to find its way back to the BBC Radiophonic Workshop in the '80s! Favorite track: Vobis Furor.

SUPRAQUENCER Usually i crave the velocity in Fixions' tracks, as they begin, progress and end very abruptly. But here, it creates a sort of patchwork of structures that aren't as refined/extended as they could be, and also appear to be crumbling a bit (albeit this might actually serve the purpose of the record). Singularity dares to step out of the way and try new things : it can really bury you under its massiveness and that's great. Cover's totally on point, perfectly tuned to the frequencies of the album. Favorite track: Neurocrash.
